theo Trunk Show in Cambridge: Eyewear & Local Art
By Dr. Sarah Fong · · Event:
On October 20, 2026, Boardwalk Eye Care hosted a theo eyewear trunk show and local artist showcase at 30 Main Street in Downtown Cambridge, Ontario. Running from 4–8 pm, the event brought together theo’s latest collections and original work by seven local artists, each taking inspiration from a theo frame.

theo eyewear from Belgium, on display in Cambridge
theo is a Belgian eyewear brand founded by opticians, with designs that explore unusual shapes and bold colour combinations. At Boardwalk Eye Care, theo is part of our regular eyewear selection; the trunk show offered an opportunity to explore a wider collection in person.
That evening, the theo representative brought the full collection, with particular attention to the latest designs. Guests could compare different frame shapes, colours, and proportions side by side, then try them on with help from our team.

You get a different sense of a frame when you try it on. A round lens shape, a bright bridge, or a translucent colour can look quite different on your face than it does in a display tray. Trying it on helps you see how those details work together—and whether they feel like you.
I love theo. I love the unique architecture of the frames and their ability to capture the perfect colour. theo is so skilled at creating unique shapes that are distinct, bold and memorable. The best way I can describe a theo frame is that it is loud and refined simultaneously. Your personality is undeniable with the perfect pair of theo frames.
Local artists and the theo frames behind their work
Building on our previous trunk shows, this theo evening brought something new to Boardwalk through a collaboration with seven local artists. Each created original work inspired by a theo frame, bringing their own ideas, techniques, and perspective to the evening. We’re grateful for the time and care they put into creating something to share with our community.
Displayed alongside the eyewear, their paintings, photography, botanical pieces, and sculptural work gave visitors another way to explore theo’s designs—and an opportunity to discover the artists working in our local community.
Visitors could also support the artists by purchasing their work, with each artist setting their own prices and receiving the full proceeds from sales.

What I love about bringing art and eyewear together is that the same frame can inspire something different in each person. The shapes and colours are a starting point, and each artist brings their own way of seeing them. I’m grateful to the seven artists who shared their creativity with us. Having their work in our practice gave us a chance to share more of the creativity in our local community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, to the seven artists who shared their work, and to the theo representative and our team for bringing the evening together.
The trunk show has ended, but theo remains part of our eyewear selection at Boardwalk Eye Care. If you missed the evening, we’d love to welcome you to our practice at 30 Main Street in Downtown Cambridge. You can explore the frames we currently have and try on any shapes or colours that catch your eye.
