Police & MTO Eye Exams in Cambridge, ON

The exam that signs off on your form.

A police or MTO eye exam is a standardized vision assessment an optometrist completes — and signs the official form for — to confirm you meet the vision standards for an Ontario driver’s licence or a police or emergency-services role. At Boardwalk Eye Care it’s done by Dr. Sarah Fong, O.D., serving Cambridge and the surrounding Waterloo Region.

MTO driver's licence vision tests

If the MTO has asked for a vision report, or you're renewing or applying for a commercial licence, we measure your vision, complete the form, and submit the results.

  • Senior drivers renewing a Class G licence
  • Commercial licence applicants (Class A–F)
  • Drivers asked by the MTO for a vision or medical report
  • New residents transferring an out-of-province licence

The assessment covers your visual acuity and visual field — the two things the MTO looks at to confirm you can drive safely. [Placeholder — specific acuity and visual-field requirements to be confirmed by Dr. Fong, with a link to the official MTO standards.]
